Fast Weight Loss With Advance Dieting and Fat Burning Technique
The New York Diet Book is yet another diet written by a celebrity trainer wanting to get on the diet book band wagon. This diet is really nothing new and I doubt that even the fact that it is written by celebrity trainer David Kirsch is going to be enough for it to appeal to most people wanting to lose weight.
This low-carb diet is quite strict in it's approach with dairy foods, breads, coffee, fruit, sugar and alcohol definite no-no's. So what's left you might ask? Well you still have your vegetables of course but only if they are low-carb plus a range of proteins including egg whites, chicken and turkey meat, lean meat and tuna. And of course, as always with these types of diets there are the obligatory protein shakes manufactured under the Kirsch label which over the 8 week period will cost you well over $300 if taken twice a day.
Calorie intake on this diet is very dramatic with a daily quota of just 900 calories. This 900 calories is to be strictly followed whether you are a 6ft man or a 5ft nothing female. This just doesn't sit well with me considering that people require a vastly different calorie intake based on their bodily makeup. I would imagine that a 6ft man on 900 calories a day would soon lose strength and feel very tired.
If the diet itself doesn't put you off, then perhaps the amount of exercise will. Kirsch recommends a 90 minute a day exercise regime which may not suit most people's busy lifestyles. Well maybe if you are keen enough to get up an extra two hours every morning this might just work for you but you would have to be really keen to maintain this regime for 8 weeks.
So what is the big appeal of this diet book? None that I can see except the promotional backup it has been given to get it selling copies.
Even supermodel Heidi Klum gets her 2 cents in with her little testimonial: "Just eight weeks after I gave birth, David had my body lingerie-and-runway ready for the show." I must admit that this doesn't really impress me much. She's a supermodel - they are used to eating nothing - it would have been a walk in the park for her. Now if they told me that he got Rosie O'Donnell walking on that runway I would have been a little more impressed.
